		Bringing Home "Baby"- Preparing For Your Puppy's Arrival Home : Very similar to parenting classes that people take prior to a human baby being born, this helpful course was designed to teach puppy owners everything they'll need to get their home ready for their new "baby". This is a an excellent course to take a couple of weeks before your fur child comes home and you'll then be well equipped, and that much more prepared to handle puppy-hood! This is a one time private lesson in your home that will give you a list of all the equipment you'll need to get started, teach you the basic 101' s of puppy-hood care and safety, and answer any questions you may have about those first important weeks at home with the newest member of the family. 		4 week in home course: Obedience commands taught: Sit, Stay, Down, Come, No, and Ok. 		7 week in home course: This is our most complete course! It includes everything in the 4 week course PLUS you get heel, so they'll walk politely on leash, boundary training, (which is everybody's favorite!)--that's where they won't bolt out the front door or a gate if it opens or, if you're on the front property, they won't bolt into the street after anything, which is VERY good for their safety, or maybe there's a certain place in the house you don't want them to go (boundary works great for that too) and you'll get out-of- sight stay, which is the most advanced stay there is because you don't need to see them for them to stay (which is nice too!) Everything is taught on and off leash and your dog will listen no matter the distraction AND on the first request!! Please call for rates. 		Behavior Problem Consultation/Puppy Consultation: This is a one time mini private lesson in your home. It doesn't cover any obedience, but it covers any and all behavior issues or puppy issues that you may need help with. We go over jumping, chewing, nipping, barking, digging, housebreaking, etc....We'll tailor the course just to cover the problems YOU need help with! This is a good choice for those who may not want a whole obedience course in their homes, but who need help with particulars RIGHT AWAY. The length of this lesson depends on how many issues there are to cover, but generally from one to two hours. Please call for rates. 		Modified Boot Camp Program: Typical "Boot Camp" programs, also known as "In-Kennel" programs, involve leaving your beloved friend for up to 6 weeks in a facility, where they are primarily caged their entire stay (except for the few minutes they are being trained) and the results are usually less than favorable. Dogs learn best in the environment where they ultimately have to live (in your house, NOT in a cage in a kennel) and in order for results to be successful, they should learn to listen to the people they ultimately have to live with (YOU, not us). Also, many people don't realize that you cannot housebreak (potty train) a dog away from its primary home. Your dog cannot be expected to know the rules in your house if you send them somewhere else. The problems with sending your dog away are many, but for a lot of people, the real bottom line concern is: Who wants to live without their dog for over one month? There is a modern alternative to the problems associated with traditional in-kennel training: MODIFIED BOOT CAMP (MBC): In MBC, your dog stays home (yes, home!) and we come to your house 3 times a week, for one month, and teach your dog ALL the basic obedience commands AND work on any behavior issues (jumping, mouthing, etc.) You can choose to be there, or we can come while you're at work. Either way, you'll have peace of mind knowing your friend is home enjoying his or her one hour of education, play, exercise, and fun. You will eed to attend the first orientation lesson so we can meet and greet and set up a schedule for our visits. Each week we tell you the 3 days we will be arriving to train. After the 12 training sessions are done, we schedule 4 "transition" lessons with you and your dog together, so the transition from listening to us, to then you, is smooth and easy. These sessions are scheduled 2 times a week for 2 weeks. All together you get 16 power-packed lessons over a 6 week period. It's convenient, it's less expensive than boarding your dog, and it's effective! You will be very pleased with the results! Please call for rates. 		In Kennel Training: Ok, Ok, You just have to have your dog trained away from home (you're going on vacation, remodeling, surgery, etc. We understand.) This program's course is exactly the same as our course 5 (Modified Boot Camp) except that your dog spends one month at either the Dog Park Inn in Santa Ana Heights or the Laguna Hills Animal Hospital in Laguna Woods (See their websites to learn more about their accommodations: www.thedogparkinn.com or www.lhah.com )or any kennel of your choice that doesn't mind us visiting for your dog's weekly training sessions. After the month of training, we work with you for 4 "transition" sessions (2 times a week for 2 weeks) so they'll listen not just to us, but you as well. This program is not suitable for dogs under 4 months old or for dogs that are not yet completely housebroken. Please see course 3, 4, or 5 if you have a young dog or one that isn't housebroken yet. 		In-Home Maintenance Training: (after graduating from our group or in home private lessons) Once your dog has graduated from one of our obedience courses, maintenance training is critical to ensuring your dog doesn't regress or forget everything you just worked so hard to achieve. Now your dog has learned the basics, and doing the maintenance homework is key to regression avoidance, but doing the maintenance work is sometimes difficult to fit into your schedule. We'll do it for you! We'll come weekly---one time a week, 3 times a week, (up to 5 times a week--you decide!) and work with your friend to reinforce everything he/she has learned. They'll get walked/heeled, played with, and, most importantly, get their weekly maintenance obedience training in! If time is an issue for you, no problem, leave it to us! Prerequisite: Completion of either a group, 4 or 7 week in home private course, or modified in kennel training program. After graduation, please call for rates! 		In-Home Private Tricks Training Class: Have you ever watched motion picture animal stars like Lassie, Benji, and Beethoven and wondered "how do they teach that dog to do that?" Well, now you and your dog can learn how it's done. Behaviors in this course include: beg, rollover, shake, play dead, circle, crawl, take a bow for a job well done, and one trick of owner's choice. Amaze your friends and have a great time! Program Length: 4 weeks, once a week, in home Prerequisite: Completion of either a group, 4 or 7 week in home private course, or modified in kennel training program.
